Background Stretcher Stack
Hi everyone,
I've released a new stack: Background Stretcher...
Create a striking home page or splash page using an oversized static image or add a dramatic slideshow to cover your whole background.
The Background Stretcher is jQuery-based and will dynamically resize the images according to the size of the browser window.
Use with images or colored backgrounds to create very unique effects:
RWExtras: Simpler webdev, one stack at a time...

Would this stack work very well with the Glide theme? I can't visualize exactly what it would do with that theme. Would it affect the banner area? The background area to the sides? Other areas?
Because themes are built in different ways, the effect differs. However, with a little bit of CSS tweaking you can adjust as needed. For instance, below you can see bgStretcher using Glide with a few tweaks. The narrow bar going across can be easily removed, too...
Of course, this example is meant to show what shows through as the image wouldn't be a good choice...
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Mauricio
I just bought your stack. Very happy with this, hope I can use it soon.
Thank you so much,
Yolanda

Hi,
If you signed up before I released the stack last night, then you should have received an email with the discount code.
Cheers,
Mauricio
Hi Mauricio,
I've tried to sign up for your RWExtras email list twice with no success. I tried once back on January 20 when I purchased your Scrollable Stack and then again today. Both times I was taken to a "thank you" page, but I never received a confirmation or subsequent mailings.
I've checked my junk mail folders and added your domain to my whitelist. I did receive my email notification when I purchased your Scrollable Stack, so I don't think it's a filter problem on my end. But then, I didn't think the New Orleans Saints would win the Super Bowl.
Just thought I'd mention this in case I'm not the only one having trouble getting your emails.
Blair
I'm sending you a PM right now.
Cheers,
Mauricio
That makes at least two of us.
In your case, I did notice that you didn't confirm. Please check your other mailboxes (junk, spam, etc.) to make sure it's not there.
Anyway, I'm sending you a PM right now.
Cheers,
Mauricio
I had exactly the same experience as Blair - I never got the email asking for a confirmation. I tried yet again a few minutes ago, and still no email. It could be time to talk to Mimi - you may be losing a lot of leads.
Great idea...

Apparently, one subscriber had problems using FF and signed up successfully using Safari 4. Could I ask you to try one more time using Safari?
Please let me know...
Thanks!
Mauricio
Make that three.
I just purchased this so no big deal, but I did get the newsletter notification for cleanGallery.

Sorry about that. You're saying that you received a previous email but not this one?
I just checked my mailing and I did include your email address in my latest newsletter. Could I ask you to check your spam/junk folder to make sure? I would like to know if something's broken...
Thanks!
Mauricio
Really enjoying the impact and theme-compatibility of your stacks.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but could you explain how to use the background color effect in your O Mega demo ?
I've looked on your site and couldn't find the answer.
Many thanks
Adam
Hi Adam,
The background color effect was created by using images. I just created a series of gradients in Photoshop and then saved them as separate jpegs using 'Save for Web & Devices'. You can also use Pixelmator (Save for Web).
Just make sure that the quality is high enough to prevent banding.
Following this approach, you can add pretty much anything you want to your background...
I hope this is clear.
Cheers,
Mauricio
Adam
I'll have to look into it... It would require changing the code.
Cheers,
Mauricio
thanks I will use on my intro page.

Very nice! I've used it too. I see you don't like IE neither?
