This stack is a result of a request posted here:
http://www.realmacsoftware.com/forums/index.php/forums/viewthread/33023/I will include a instructional pdf for it later today but wanted to go ahead post this up. I'm not sure if I did the .dmg file and it's contents correctly as it was my first attempt with this as well.... so if there's an issue with this I'll have to correct it later today as well.
This stack includes a snippet for the image source html so that if you desire to link an image instead of text you can. Simply place that html in place of the text in the "Link Name" area, and then drop in the url of your image. This stack allows you to customize the popup message, however in my testing I found that if your message is to many characters that the popup won't occur. So keep your message short, sweet, and to the point. You can also easily define the link path (url), and you can even choose if you want the link to open in the current browser tab/window or in a new one by clicking on the "Open in New Window" box. This stack is simple html, so further customization is not possible but you won't have to worry about it conflicting with other stacks though.... I have a demo page setup with this stack placed in Joe Workman's Lightbox stack:
External Link Warning DemoHere ya go, enjoy, and it's free:

The "Opening Link in new window" in Firefox does open a new tab and I have no problems with that, however in Safari it opens in a new window - any possibility to have this open in a tab as well?
Regards
Norman
Its me, my mac and your money - thats a good combination!!
Most should open in a new tab, however you may have to go into the preferences of the browser and select how it handles new links so it will.
Firefox 3.6.2 will open in new tab.
Google Chrome 5.0.342.7 beta opens in a new tab.
Safari 4.0.4 opens in a new window even though I selected it to open in a new tab via the preferences.
IE 8(not sure what version of 8 though) will open in a new tab.
I'll play around with some other browsers today if I get the chance.

Preferences in Safari are set for new links to open in a new tab and tried again and it is still opening in a new window - Safari version is 4.0.5. Have not tried Chrome or IE8 but will check those out later.

Oddly enough as I read more regarding stacks and the book Learn Cocoa on the Mac, it's had me thinking. As a result I've tinkered around with the backend and will be releasing an updated version with some fat trimmed off.... plus a change in how you link an image.
Since both RW and the Stacks plugin are suppose to be very easy to use, I just didn't feel comfortable requiring the user to have to insert code to achieve an end result..... Linking an image for this stack. So I poked around and tossed and turned until I resolved it. Unfortunately my MBP died and my charger is 4 hours away.
I'll test run it Sunday and update hopefully Monday.

Thank you John.
I have an update for this stack which incorperates the Text stack. This allows you more options regarding text that is linked such as defining color, size, font type, and so on. In addition to this it allows you to drag and drop images into the stack, so no more having to add the img src snippet, or having to upload the image to your server first and then adding the url in the img src snippet. You can also use a combo of text and an image(s) within the stack. This change removes the "Link Name" option from the HUD for this stack since all those details are now placed within the text area of the stack itself.
I'll upload this update to my server later today, but wanted to give folks a heads up on this. I will continue to improve upon this stack, and any suggestions are more than welcomed.
