Check your version of 3rd Party Plug-ins for RW5

Hi all,

There has been some advice that before you upgrade to RW5 you should check that all of your 3rd party plug-ins are up to date. I have gone through a number that I have and as far as I am aware the ones listed below are the correct versions in brackets, if anyone wants to add or correct them then please do so by posting to this thread. For obvious reasons I have not listed the ones which come with RW5 which are all at Version 5.0.

Regards
Norman

Accordion (1.5.3); Blocks (3.2.4); Carousel (1.3.2); CartLoom (1.0.0b4); Codafy (1.0.0); Collage (2.1.1); Columns (1.3.2U); Content Pager ((1.4.0); Coverflow (1.04); FAQ Maker (1.2.2); FormLoom (1.3.2); Kwik (1.1.0); Link Inspector (1.0); Mobilize (1.1.0); Partitions (1.0.1); PayLoom (2.0.2); Pluskit (2.0.9); Rapid Album (1.0.3); Rapid Blog (1.98); Rapid Cart (2.7.12); Rapid Docs (1.2.4); Rapid Maps (1.0); Rapid Search (1.0); Simple Viewer (0.2U); Site Map (2.0.0); Stacks (1.3.1(141)); Stash (1.2.1); Style Test Plus (1.0.25 Build 72); SymCube (1.1.0); SymFlip (1.0.0); SymFlow Player (1.1.1); SymMedia5 (1.10); SymSwirl (1.02); SymTune Slider (1.0.1); TabLoom (1.0.0); TabMate (1.7.0); Weaverbox (1.7.2); Weaver FM (1.2.0); Weaverpix (2.3.0)

I personally believe that RW should make it easier to find your version number of your plug-in. It would be almost impossible for a simple user to determine if they were up to date or not. I felt they took a step backward regarding this issue compared to RW4.

My Collage2 is 2.1.0(49) and I just updated it from Yourhead.

    FYI Yourhead's update page:

    http://www.yourhead.com/download.html

Edit re Collage2: The Get info and download page say 2.1.0(49) but it says 2.1.1 when choosing a page in RW.

I've just downloaded PlusKit from Loghound and that version is 2.0.7. I've seen other references to version 2.0.9 in the forums but where is that available?

You should install that one and then create a new page with it in RW. It will upgrade via sparkle by itself to 2.09.

    Hope this help.

I also have PlusKit 2.0.7. I deleted old Pluskit page. Installed new one. I don't care if it updates via sparkle, karkle, or barkle. But shouldn't I see something? (For example, I have other plugins or stacks update from within RW and I see some indicator, some prompt for quit and restart.) I'm seeing nothing.

Here's the further confusion: I download 2.0.7 from Loghound. But based on the info provided by the PlusKit downloaded it's at 2.0.6.
    Yikes!

So do I really have 2.0.7 or not? If not, how do I get it?

At any rate there's no sparkle, karkle, barkle or any other magical updated to 2.0.9 from within RW5 on my computer.

RapidAlbum hasn't been updated for years. (i.e. there is no recent update, as far as I can see)

Edit: RapidAlbum 1.0.3 is from January 2009 (I think). So, it hasn't been updated for RW5

I tried to publish a RapidAlbum page; the photos did not publish.

I am aware that RapidAlbum is freeware, has it been effectively "discontinued"?

Before I bug the developer, can I ask if any of you have had problems?

I have just tried RapidAlbum on a few themes and it works fine for me. It could however be a clash of themes and the new consolidation of common files and CSS files within your Preferences. I would suggest you go there and turn those off and try again or perhaps see what themes are causing problems and then ask the developer.

Check from within RW when you add a page or go to -/Library/Application Support/Rapidweaver and see what version you have there. I had already upgraded to 2.0.9 when I had RW4.4.2 the other day, so I would just select rom within RW4.4.2 and sparkle should happen if it is not the correct version. I believe that the site has an error so i should be fine.

    Hi NormanT

Thanx for your effort - great idea to list version numbers of the RW Plugins.

There's the eShox plugin: Links too. Version 2.1.

I have exactly the same issue as mitchellm. I downloaded PlusKit from Loghound today. RW says it's version 2.0.7. In Library/Application/Support/Rapidweaver it is version 2.0.6. There is no Sparkle update showing up in RW. I'm still running RW4. I am confused....

Ah, good advice! One thing I hadn't even thought about is themes. I always thought of themes as just 'decoration' or a 'lick of paint', but of course it is much more than that!

I've been using a 3rd party theme called Mirage, by NimbleHost:

PlusKit 2.0.9 can now be manually downloaded at the loghound website.

Also, with PlusKit, I just realised that I didn't delete the old version, which MUST be done first:
    Uninstalling
    1. In the Finder open the folder Home ] Library ] Application Support ] RapidWeaver.
    2. Find the PlusKit.rwplugin and move it to the trash.

An important step! (I very rarely read instructions, in full. Glad I noticed it just now)

They're the paint, the embossing, the cutting of wood blocks to interlock nicely. Heck, they're really the scaffolding you precariously balance all the plugins and stacks on ;)

None of the plugins I have show any issues (yet), but one stack and one theme is being icky. I get an updated version box about MBOverlayBox, and the CA Camilo theme causes a string warning when I select it.

78 themes, probably half that many plugins, and three times as many stacks as the combined number of plugins and themes. I'm amazed RW can start as quickly as it does :)
