Initial cut of new site - Comments, Suggestions Please.

This is a new site that I am developing for my business.

www.CancerExerciseTraining.com

I am using the HV Out of the Box theme and am curious about page loading times with the background images.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi

...just had a very brief look. Loading times here are ok.....but I would delete the background images completely as they detract from the overall design. This would give you a far cleaner look for your site and would be easier to read. Maybe make more of a header image for the pages.

I agree with maxsutt. The background images are very distracting. The manner they work (letting the page text slide over them) is also a disconcerting effect, in my view. This is because the page is not working as one would expect of a page with a background image.

I think that using graphical content is a good way to reduce text and we are all adept at reading images. Consider which information is essential to pass on to the site visitor and (possibly) then organising it into a recognisable pattern that works across the whole site.

If you have image editing skills, consider what you want want your images to convey to the visitor (from their point of view... not knowing how you think nor how you intended that they navigate the site) and possibly edit them to have much less opacity or reduce them to sketches, if you think that they are important elements in your site and you feel that you want them and must include them in your site.

Consider making a section of small, fast loading images that can punctuate your messages. At the moment, your site feels like an unhappy conjunction of vague (almost irrelevant) imagery and text.
    Cheers!
