Backgrd Sub Hover in Freestack nav bar

KlaasKlaas Posts: 72Members
Hi every one,

I'm using the Freestack navmenu 3. I can change the background color, but I want to use an image as background? How can I do that?
(I don't want a vast color but a Frosted glass background. Or a transparent background.)
Can someone please help me?

    Klaas,

    You didn't say whether you were using RW4 or 5. Here are the instructions for V4

    add the image you want to use to the page's assets.

    Add this to the Page Inspector ] Header ] CSS field for the page:
    #nav ul li ul li a:hover,
    #nav ul li ul li a{
    background-image:url(assets/pattern1.jpg);
    }

    this assumes the image name is pattern1.jpg.... change to match yours

    Hope this helps,

    Brian

    Brian,

    Thank you very much for your reply.
    I use RW 5, but tried your suggestion in my old RW4.
    Sadly it didn't work.
    But I got a mail from Charlie Lockhart who explained me how to manage this by replacing the images in de stack's resources folder. Now every thing is fine.
    But thanks again.

    Hi Klaas,

    I know that this was last year:

    but is there any chance you could share how Charlie explained how to do this as I too would like to alter the nav colour/image settings!

    Cheers

    You actually have to 'open' the stack itself and swap the images contained inside the stack package with the image you would like to use.
    You need to ensure the images are the same size as the original and you need to ensure they match the 'naming' as the original.

    If you choose to change those images out, when a Theme update is pushed out to users and the stacks are updated the new stack will overwrite your changes.
