I am designing a website for a friend who uses a PC. He wants to be able to edit his text once I design and export the site to him. What text edit program do I need to use for his site and that can be exported to him. He uses Notepad. How do I know if the fonts are compatible?

You would need to add in some sort of Content Management System for him to do that without you overwriting his changes when you have to make changes to the site or update the Theme.

There are a few that do. I've played a bit with RapidEdit but mostly with Pulse CMS.

Another option is a Stack option from Blueball Design - Dynamic Content.
