Blow and Xense background image size

Hello
is there a certain pixel size/ratio recommend for the background/slideshow images in Blow or Xense theme to meet the most monitor sizes and to avoid to much cropping of the images?

Have a look at the supplied sample theme backgrounds....
Think they are 1024 x 768 at 72 dpi, but check before you proceed.

I normally use 1280X850, but even at 1440px, they look too jaggy on 24" displays (1920X1200).
