Hi,
I'm looking for a banner cycler stack with overlay function.
Have a look at the banner cycler at this site:
kettermann
(if link is dead, site might have gone active and is now
here)
To make the photos cycle "behind" the transparent white curve and the badge and those two buttons (and being cut with the curve at the bottom) one could simply prepare them in photoshop. But if you want to replace the photos later on (for the winter season) you will be back at the desk and re-do all the work again.
In fact the badge and buttons on that (concrete 5) site are placed via CSS over the photos, and only the curves and transparent section are done in photoshop. But wouldn't it be possible to place two (or more) images over _any_ photo (cycler) within a stack? Like I outlined it
here:
Image one is not transparent (red).
Image two is transparent (blue).
I searched a lot here in the forum and on the stacks sites, but did not find a solution. A combination of
symSlider and an inverted version of the
fader stack (with a picture in the foreground instead of in the background) would do the trick.
Or maybe someone can point out to me that it can all be done easily with absolute positioning of images via CSS (over stacks..)?!
TIA
regards.

What I would do is just create a "top layer" with all your overlays in photoshop and save it with every picture for the banner. Than put it in Cycler (joe workman) or some other stack slider.
The effect: Top layer will stay & pictures will change.
It is also very easy to change -> 1 psd file with 1 top layer and 1 photo layer (changeble)
It's a little bit cheating , but it will do the trick.

The best solution I can see would be to use DeFilgra's Image Layout stack. First you would need to create an image at the opacity and width you want and save it as PNG. Afterwards drop it into the image layout stack use a high z-number +/- 9000 to make sure it appears on top, position static and adjust hight to your needs. Sorted!
Hope it helps

That seems to be exactly what i was looking for. i got DeFilgra's "full monty" pack, since they all look useful.
The website above is done by Bernd, he is excellent with graphics and gets the idea of what the customers want, even with a little input only. Me in contrast to that, i'm more the technics guy, know how to install the web services needed, but with little to no graphics skills at all...
We both were lacking of a solid CMS system for our projects. I was impressed by Rapidweaver since i know it, but it had to come Armadillo for me to be convinced to go deeper into it... which is now! (And i think Bernd has to buy his first Mac soon
I'm looking forward to diving deeper into the rabbit hole!
Is there a list of responsive themes somewhere, since the next project is focussing on mobile websites....?
