[WeaverThemes] SiteCake Stack Released

weaverweaver EuropePosts: 222Members
Just want to let everyone know, that I've released a Free Stack that you may find useful.

What is this?

sitecake.png

The SIteCake Stack let's you define several dynamic regions in your Stacks page to be used with the popular drag and drop SiteCake CMS, this is useful to give your clients the power to Login to their website and make several changes and updates to their pages.

With this Stack and SiteCake CMS you should be able to drag and drop various content types at the website, You can drag an image, from your desktop or file manager, and add it to the website. If you add more than one image SiteCake will make a slideshow of it. And if you want to add a downloadable file, just drag it to the page and SiteCake will make a link, with the name and the length of the file, and will not override any user defined content.

Note: You can use the CMS with other pages also, like HTML and Styled type pages

Hope you like it.

Cool stuff Vitor! Been wondering where you've been lately. Checked it out and it seems like a really cool start to CMS for stacks.

Nice stack! But let me just ask a quick question: the SiteCake CMS system is now operating free, but for a previous version of CMS, as stated in the web site, a license key was required (Needed to be purchased? I Don't know); Will this CMS service always be free or will there be any future fee? can't find any info about this topic.
    Cheers

You can read the developers intentions here: http://sitecake.com/blog/2012/01/simple-easy-and-free-cms/

Now it is free, but the developers are working on the system preparing SiteCake for open source. plans to be release as a open source CMS by the middle of the year.

    Hope this answers your question.

Cool Vitor! Looking forward to your responsive stuff in the future. Here are couple of projects that I've used your themes for. They're in my top 5 go-to themes, love 'em.

great CMS, just installed it, and everything seems to work, but when I publish e.g. a new textblock it is not shown, but there is a file created in sitecake content.

any ideas what the problem is?

Hi, to be honest, i have no idea what to do with the stack. Do i have to nest it in another stack or can i put stacks in there (i've tried - but no).
It seems that i don't get the point.
I've installed the cms onto my server and got only error messages (see attachments).

What do i have to do?

@Andreas Moser The stack allows you to structure your website the way you need, go course you can nest this stacks with others, like columns, also you cannot enter any content in RapidWeaver, content needs to be added via the CMS online, at least for now.

Do you have PHP5 on your server?

Also did you upload the sitecake folder to the root of your site?

I uploaded it in two places - the one is the root and the other is the folder where the pages are. Maybe that was wrong?
  • weaverweaver EuropePosts: 222Members
I don't think so but..., you need to place the sitecake folder only in the root of your website, maybe this as something to do with your hosting account.

Contact me via support, so that we can discuss a little further those details.

Great stack.. Works well! Noticed that the editor bar does not move when used on iPad. Not a big problem, thought I'd let you know :-)

@weaver, after some trial and error, it's working now, the pages should be php, as far as I figured out.
