Contact page (form) not working

srabadansrabadan Posts: 29Members
Hi there.

Having a problem with a client site I don't know where to start looking for the answer. I do think it's server side.

Client says the contact page is not working, I have re output the site file and checked, the needed .php file is being generated, I am not changing the location of any files RW creates so I am assuming it should be working fine.

If you need to see the site it's HERE

If this is a server side error how do I find it and troubleshoot. If it's a rapidweaver issue any ideas what could be wrong?

Any help would be great my client has been very patient so far but I would like to get this fixed.

Thanks.

Does it work for you? What error are you/they getting?

No specific error, emails just aren't going out.

I also have standard, html email links elsewhere on each page, those all work fine. The form page is directed to that same email address so the address works. I can't or don't know how to test that feature from my desktop. Client also says it was working until early april but the webmaster tells me he hasn't changed anything. It's hosted by some guy in Vermont.

Have you tried sending from the page using the Form? Is it a stock RW contact form?

Also, if you think its 'server side', then the 'host' changed something. Did he update the version of PHP that he was using? What version of PHP was he using when it worked and what version is he using now?

I have tried using the form since she made me aware of the error, she got no email from the form but did get the email when I clicked my text email link.

I will need to send her host an email and follow up with your suggestions. thanks for your time.

My client is having the same problem. Although her site has never been created with RW before, she has always had the same host company. No emails have been received via the contact form.

@Srebadan - have you solved the issue on your site yet?

    @qkarmark.

Going to suggest a workaround for my client. As this issue doesn't seem to be with my design, but with her host then it is out of my hands.

Since a traditional HTML email link seems to be working I will replace the form page with something more like a business card with an HTM email link on it. If she really wants that form she can change her host and I will put the page back up.

I agree - the host would seem to be the issue (unless there is some obscure user setting we hadn't considered). I won't know unless I have access to her site, which is resident on her office computer.... if I come up with anything, I'll try passing it along. :) thanks for the info.

OK, so it seems that perhaps her (free) hosting server does NOT support PHP (they do have PHP support when you upgrade to a Business Lite package etc - but this is a little retired lady that wants to keep her colleagues and friends up to date with her website: I doubt she's willing to pay for a hosting solution.

On a separate note, I would be curious to know if there is an HTML *non-PHP* work-around of the RW contact form? Does anyone know of anything? I've heard of a Sendmail option, but to me that means the email address of the host becomes visible, or do I have that wrong?)

    Thanks for any help =D
