dear weavers,
is there a theme which allows to only develop a mobile website/webapp?
not responsive. just for mobile devices.
thanks a lot! best wishes -kai.
@soonwai yes I will. I know that the themes "flood" and "media" from http://www.themeflood.com are responsive and look good in the mobile view. but I wanted a dedicated theme.
Yes @skaicaptain it is awesome, I've used this theme before.
Sure, it's not responsive as it's built just for mobile so you would have two sites / sub domain, and it won't change if you resize the browser window.
www.mysite.com
m.mysite.com
If you go to www.mysite.com on your phone, it will take you to the mobile version using a redirection script. On the desktop site (www.mysite.com) you can use any other theme.
Hope that makes sense
Cheers,
Michael

@yuZool actually I did not say that it's awesome. that was you
I even find it quite limited and it looks more or less like only one "accordeon" page go me.
and what about this much advertised feature to add an icon to your homescreen in iOS? that is a function of iOS and can be done by default with any website. or did I overlook something?
it works on my ipod touch but not on my ipad. but this does not concern that webapp. this seems to be a problem with my ipad?!
how can I see the mobile version on may desktop computer? mobile.rapidweaver.at switches to rapidweaver.at automatically...
Yes I do that sometimes I was just reiterating @soonwai 's recommendation.
I wouldn't say it is limited, perhaps "resourceful". This is what dedicated mobile sites usually are. The idea is that your streamline your content and provide the most useful and relevant information to the user in the place they need it.
So, yes, 1 page accordion works well here. Great for static marketing sites like for freelancers, design agencies, marketing 1 or 2 products, selling a book, iPhone app, etc.
Responsive on the other hand usually gives everything the desktop site gives but decreases its size to fit on a mobile screen.
Two solutions to this mobile "problem". Both depend on the project, the scope, budget, and loads of other things.
This is a good theme / tool to have in your arsenal.
I think the icon part he's referring to is the cool little pop-up prompt to ask you to save to desktop.
Not sure why it's not running on your iPad. This will depend on the redirect script he's using. His site might just be detecting iPhones for this particular example. Also this means you will be redirected when you type in mobile.rapidweaver.at on your computer as the server side script is detecting that you are "on an iMac using Safari" and will take you to the desktop site only. There's no easy way around it. On the other hand, seamless for the user.
Cheers,
Michael

@yuZool thanks for your extensive reply. I am still not too convinced about the theme. I think everything can be done nicely with a theme like flood or media from themeflood.com.
the problem was on my ipad. after restarting it the option was back there. strange but true...
