In my world (books and book promotion) this got some attention and now I'm wondering how she did it. Specifically, the series of full-browser-screen images, the arrow links, and the imbedded links occasionally (such as the link back to the "beginning"). The fact that the images compress and stretch if you widen or compress the browser screen.

You could use something like Photographos to achieve what you're attempting to do. Just hide the elements you don't need.
