Updating 3rd Party Software

Is there any improvement to getting all ones 3rd party software updated within RW? I gave up on RW after trying to load Stacks 2 and having some major trouble. The last suggestion I got from YourHead was to reload Stacks2 and all my Stacks/stacks.
I gave up on RW at that point as I was spending so much time updating software I wasn't having time to build a web site. I'm not sure how I would even go about tracking down all the extra software I bought in the last couple years and if that is what I would have to do to get RW working again.....
