can I overlap 2 stacks as seen in the link here

Is there a way I can overlap 2 stacks? The above link shows an example. The brown circle top right. It overlaps the image below, yet hovers separately. Can I achieve something like this in RW?
Thanks

I'd use Stacks4Stacks HoverBox inside an Absolute Stack by SeeInvisible.

I've never used that particular combination before, but it should work. The Absolute stack gives you the ability to place an object anywhere you want on the page, regardless of what is under it.

Report back and post a link to whatever you come up with. If you hit any bumps along the road, those are two of the top five stack developers, IMO, for customer service, so contact Lee or Will and I bet they will be able to help you.

In case you are wondering who's on my list (top 5) for support: Maurcio at RWExtras, Charlie and Ed at BlueBall Design, Lee at SeeInvisible, Will at Stacks4Stacks, and Gary at DooBox. YMMV

Am I being a twit? Have followed instructions but when I place the images into the hover box and then into absolute stack and preview ..... it vanishes ...?

I just did a quick test using the FreeStack Theme, HoverBox and Absolute and it worked fine?

    What Theme are you using?

I just did a test also, and found that it didn't show up unless I added another image inside the Absolute stack, alongside the HoverBox stack. That leads me to believe that the height setting inside the Absolute stack is not setting the size of the HoverBox content correctly. What settings did you use when you did your test, Ed?

PS: I think that Lee is in the UK, so you can probably catch him shortly, if needed. Our Sunday evening is his Monday morning.

OK, just got it working without an image inside the Absolute stack as a way of forcing the sizing. Auto isn't working, but when I enter a specific value in pixels it works fine. Make sure that you use px after each value with this stack (i.e.. 100px, not just 100). Be sure to follow his directions to sort out what you want to use as a reference div. For the Freestack theme, I used "pagewrapper". It looks like for U Tility, you can use "content" as the reference, without the quotes.

I didn't use anything in FreeStack. Except for setting the Left and Top. The height for HoverBox matches my image. I used a Spacer stack instead of a Top Margin setting in FreeStack.

Yes! It worked. Thank you both so much! I had to add 100px in the height box and it worked. I had tried 100 but not 100 px.

Now I just need to figure out getting it infront of the existing image and not behind...will get to that today!
Thanks again for the great help

That's the easy part, Gary. Layer stacking order is controlled by the z-index, and there is an entry box just for that. In my test, all I did was enter 1000 in that box and it displayed on top, but it depends on what the underlying elements have for a z-index property. You can be scientific and use Inspect Element in RW or in your browser, or just use trial and error. There is no downside to using too high a number if you aren't worried about it being above something like a dropdown menu.
