How clever is RapidWeaver ?

Hi all i seem to spend ALL of my computer time using RapidWeaver, it is after all the only way to learn !, i am only making the One Site but i am continually editing pages, deleting pages and RE-uploading the pages to see the actuall result of my continual messing about.

I can see that the Page Names and Folder Names are now getting up into the high twenties !.

So i am very curious to know, how many pages and folders do i have up on my site that dont actually do anything and can be removed ?, i am thinking i could be wasting a lot of Web Space with all those old defunct pages/folders laying around in my public_html folder !.

Or IS RapidWeaver clever enough to remove all the old pages/folders before it uploads all the new ones ??

If you change the name than the old one stays.

    Hi Gille, thanks for that.

So does that mean it is beneficial to occasionally delete (with a FTP program) the contents of the folder and re-publish ?

RapidWeaver don't delete any pages, fortunately. RW updated your site, but does not synchronize.

You must delete old pages with an ftp tool.
Delete the entire page and then re-publish the new site, from time to time.

Occasionally if I make a lot of changes to a project, I will delete all the file in the public-HTML folder and republish. Obviously though, don't delete any cms data folders.

After 6+ years of using RW, I finally deleted not just a bunch of folders, but old themes from previous iterations of my site from the rw_common folder. I chopped out about 300Mb of dreck.

Jeez, i am a fairly recent recruit to the Apple Fan club, about 18 months ago to be exact, i got Rapidweaver about the same time and have never looked back since, BUT i didn't realise RW had been around for that long !.
"rw_common" folder nice one "buried caesar" thanks, i shall keep my eye on that one.

"kpry" as for CMS i havent used that yet, it is a bit above my skill level that one LOL.
