Hello,
since Aperture 3.3 iPhoto and Aperture use the same library format. So it should possible to use an Aperture Library directly for a photo page.
My experience is fatal: you have to relink your photo page with the project in Aperture/iPhoto whenever you open the photo library with the other program ...
What is wrong?
