All Stacks Updated for V2

criccric Zurich - SwitzerlandPosts: 154Members
Hi
I updated all my stacks to not only add Stacks2 compatibility but to also include new features that are only supported with Stacks2. For example you can now use your own icon images to create the rPlayer GUI!

The updates are free for existing customers and you should be able to request the new download info from here:

http://www.rapid-ideas.com/dl/

Note: as Stacks 2 is still beta, so are those stacks. Let me know if you find any issue.

Be Creative!

    thanks, Chris :-)

just... could you, please, check FlickrGallery's password? doesn't seem the right one :-(
  • pl_svnpl_svn Posts: 416Members
... definitly either wrong password or corrupted file (already re-downloaded three times)

also, Chris: you stacks do not "group together" (yes: I'm sure I used the Stacks2 version) and still stay in the "Other Stacks" section

Seems that TextExpander fooled me as it expanded some special chars to a month name!

Please request a new download at http://www.rapid-ideas.com/dl/

    Should be fixed now.

I never found that the grouping does work. Thought that all 3rd party stacks will be listed in the "Others" section. I will check this.

    some rapid-ideas stacks are free,
this is the reason why they are not in your email.

    Hi Stan
Indeed all stacks have been updated (not the free ones). If you still can't get your download, contact me directly.

    Chris,

Successfully downloaded your updates but am disappointed to see that they now rest in the amorphous mass at the bottom of my stacks. Weren't you made aware of the "Group" functionality in Stacks 2 and the simple change to the stacks info.plist to achieve this.

If you want a group, just create a group - in the info.plist :)

    M.M,

My first attempts to add the group were on some old Stacks not updated for Stacks 2. Tried it again on the Rapid Ideas updates and it worked as per yours above.

Thanks for the info. I already found this in the default stacks and will include them in the next update.
Actually this wasn't documented in the new Stacks 2 API and so I missed it somehow.

Not wanting to curb any enthusiam or 'creativity', but there has been some serious discussion re modifying a stack2 plist on the Stacks Chat forum.
Anyone who is unsure about grouping or editing the plist, should read both of these threads before making any mods.
    Just a thought.

    Photon,

As the originator of these discussions, let me add the following points:

    1. If you muck it up don't blame the designers.
    2. Don't do unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing.
    3. You must also be extremely confident about backup & restore, without harming the RW ecosystem.
