Change TopBox Stack Presets

janssenjanssen Posts: 10Members
Dear RW users, I hope somebody can help me out here, because I'm going nuts....

I am using TopBox (no problems there, it works great) but some time ago I edited some of the presets internally so I don't have to type the same stuff over and over (box size, iFrame url, opacity, shading etc.)

Today I wanted to change the default link for the iFrame because I need to add a lot of boxes, but.... I can't find the file I originally edited. The TopBox.stack in the RW folder isn't it, because it has the original date stamp on it and it can't be opened with TextWrangler or TextEdit.... but I DID change something before and for the life of me , I can't figure out how I did it....

Call me stupid, call dumb... but I can't find it... jeez...I don't even know what I'm looking for.. I DO know that I spend 2 hours digging around on my computer and an additional 20 minutes on the internet trying to find an answer and I DO know I edited the stack before.....

Is there anybody out the who can shine some light on this and relieve me of my suffering? (no, I don't mean shooting me, just pointing me in the right direction...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

JP

I just checked and mine is in TopBox.stack in the stacks folder within the rapidweaver folder.
I had to right click the file and select "other…" on the "open with" menu and then Textmate. The info.plist file was within the contents folder of the topbox stack.

'Editing' stacks that you 'purchase' can possibly cause you to encounter on single most important thing - changes. As the developer updates that/those specific stacks over time you could miss out on new features or 'bug' fixes.
So, if you're going to do that, I would suggest working with a 'duplicate' of the original stack. That way you don't damage the original. Just like Themes.

As Bikeman points out, locate the stack in question and use the 'Show Package Contents' option on 'right click'.
You may have made those changes to a 'stylesheet' that the developer added or maybe the 'template' file itself. As Bikeman points out, you may have edited the pList and that effects the HUD settings/operation.

    @ Bikeman.
    I found it!
When I tried to peek with TextWrangler before, it said "No Editor" in the middle of the page, and I didn't notice the "content" folder at the top left. (however, I obviously did before...)

    @ Ed.
I see your point and you're right. Luckily I still have the original stack. But yes, I've been changing the one I installed in RW. Nothing major though, just some of the default numbers/percentages that show up in the HUD as presets, and the sample url in the iFrame preset, thinking those were harmless changes.

    @ both of you.
A very BIG THANKS!!! (for the advice and for taking the time)
