Linking video to image

I'm attempting to link an image on my page to an external video. The video plays when I click on the image but I can't find a way to then return back to the page. There's no "x" on the corner of the video that I can click to close it. Once the video ends, I seem to be stuck there.
I wonder if this is just a function of being in preview mode as opposed to checking it on an actual site?

    You can embed the link to the video so that it plays in your site but doesn't take you out to another site. You can use a video page or try a stack like Joe Workman's Vimeo or Youtube stacks.

    I have this in one of my client sites and it works great. Here is an example from my clients site:

    Thanks Keith.
    Sorry I was a bit unclear there - The video is a Quicktime that I'm hosting on an ftp.
    I added a link to a still image that then opens up and plays the video.
    My main problem is getting back to the original page during or after playback.
