Blank Space/Gap on Right Side of seyDesign Alltr Theme

kprykpry Saskatoon, SKPosts: 72Members
Alltr theme by seydeisgn is an awesome theme. But when viewing on iOS, there is a gap or blank space on the right hand side of page. Any suggestions to what that may be or what is causing it?

You have to view this on iOS device or simulator.

    Hi kpry,

Try removing the width: 100% from extra content 12.

That should remove the black vert. strip along the right side.

    Hope that gets you going.

Despite @bman's best efforts I really wish he would stop telling people to alter theme code before eliminating other issues first. Rule number 1, if it's not an issue in the theme demo site then it's likely something that's been added to the users content, so look there first. Please!

@bman, you are making work harder for us theme developers when you jump to conclusions about the theme. Look at the user content first. By the time we get to look, we have to account for both user content AND whatever edits you told the user to make.

As it stands right now the only issue I see on the iPad is that you've got too many top level pages.

I have to say I had this exact same effect using Doggy's Sleeker theme and viewing on an iPad in landscape mode. However, when I used one of the supplied styles without modifying it in any way, the stripe on the right did not appear. Via trial and error I found that taking the style I started with and modifying colors, width, etc in a certain order would get the look the way I wanted it without the stripe showing up. It doesn't really make sense to me why that would matter, but for some reason it worked.

Thanks for replies. I appreciate them all.

After messing around for a while, this is my discovery.

I could not achieve anything with bman's suggestion of removing width: 100%. It pushed all content to the left. I tried different variations but could not correct it.

I then tried Adam's suggestion of removing some top-level pages to decrease the width of the nav bar. When viewing on iPad, it does appear correctly with no grey bar on the side. If you double tap anywhere on the page, the grey bar will appear on the right side. So while it is still there, it is only visible when double tapping. My issue is that I had too many top-level pages.

I am happy with the solution as the page is centered and the grey bar is not seen on default.

Thank you very much to those who replied. I find Rapidweaver developers are extremely helpful, and the users are just as much.

    Hey @bman,

I completely removed the extracontent12 and the problem is not there what-so-ever. While I did not try adjusting the css width property, you were definitely on to something. Thanks again for helping.
