From what I can tell the code for the Alt text for the site logo is generated with the % logo % tag in the index.html template in the theme package’s content folder and it renders as “site logo”.

I would like to change it so that the alt tag that google is picking up and using as the page title for its search page results listing is “ABC Company” and not “Site Logo”.

I could edit the index.html to hardwire in the literal path to the logo image I want to use and remove the % logo % tag from the index template, but that would mean the Site Logo image upload would not work in the Setup Box.

Any thoughts on best practices for this? I think google is somehow picking that to create a title for the the page rather than the actual page title?

You can see what I am talking about by googling eckert byrne and seeing the results for eckertbyrnellc.com

Thanks for any thoughts.

I am trying to create a new website for one of my businesses. I have one already using a template from Rapidweaver but I can not find a template for the way I want this one to look. I am not sure I am talented enough to do it.
Attached is the way I want the home page to look. The entire picture would be the background of the home page. I want the photo of the group in the middle of the canvas to fade and constantly be replaced with another group photo. I then want to add my links to the menu (on the bottom of the canvas).
Can this be done easily?
My other site is http://www.cathybond.com using a template.

Has the latest Version of OSX impinged upon RW? I’ve had to do a lot of “Forced Quits” recently (several in succession) and only get a good load if I remove the cache. The forced quits are after I,ve often only done some minor changes; closed the site and exited RW.

Any clues? Should a normal RW closure remove the cache?

Do you know if “updates” can cause such problems?

I suffered hardware failure the other day meaning I had to wipe clean my Mac. On reinstalling my saved projects from an external hard-drive, I was surprised to discover my fomatting had gone weird. The structure, pages and content were all there. But my default theme was not set and when chosen, now includes both a banner and sidebar I set to hide, as well as my Custom CSS not working.

Doing some subsequent research found a tip on RW reinstallations (http://support.realmacsoftware.com/kb/rapidweaver/moving-a-rapidweaver-project-from-one-system-to-another) which suggests you have to copy: 1. Themes & plugins, 2. RW Preferences, 3. Assets

Q1 - Knowing that I just reinstalled my RW projects, do you know what in particular I’ve missed reinstalling?

Q2 - Just one of my reinstalled projects is now published on the web. In terms of sorting out this project on my machine to match the published one, is it a case of just tweaking it to match?

Q3 - Moving forwards, how would you recommend a user safely stores their RW projects?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Paul

Hi

I’ve just upgraded to rapidweaver 5 and am redesigning part of a website which was made in an earlier version of rapidweaver. When I made the site I bought CA Corners. I like the theme and want to continue with it. It now comes free with the themes but in this new version there is a credit to the designer at the bottom of each page. Can I get rid of this? Have looked in page inspector but there doesn’t seem to be a place to do this.

Thanks

What’s the consensus of RW5 at this point, should I wait for RW6 when it comes out or is RW5 a worthy upgrade?
