Hi all,
Just a quick announcement, as some of you may be effected. Flickr is now causing any slideshows or other Flickr pages in an iFrame to break out and take over the browser window.
This effects a number of the Flickr slideshow stacks, in my case, the “Flickr Modern” stack.
There is more discussion on it in the Flickr forums here: http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/123017/
Quite a rude implementation, and no wrongdoing by the stack creators. Should be easy enough to fix though, but a bit of a pain.
Cheers,
Sam.
Hats off to Jordan for reworking the Flickr Modern stack so quickly!
The ‘autoplay’ capacity is gone, by using the standard Flickr embed code, so one of the other stacks may be the best option if you want your slideshow to start automatically.
I noticed this yesterday… bummer. Is there a fix?
God is good.
Perhaps just as importantly, the ability to designate a specific “set” for display is also gone. It can now only show your entire photostream.
Jordan has been great about trying to play catch up with Flickr. It’s tough when they keep changing things.
ohh no
2bit updated his stack but there is NO pure 0 solution. The sets or albums can’t be streamed under one user.
i’m hoping 2bitoperation can fix this issue soon

The new stack does allow photostream access but I am working on a new stack that will allow streaming of individual sets.
I had used the iFrame ability simply because it allowed the dropping of any Flickr URL and would automatically create the slideshow. Because of how they have changed it, it means using their embed code which isn’t as straightforward, so it means splitting the stack :(

Does anyone know if this now means you cannot connect Flickr with Cooliris? I ask because it used to be when you would add a Cooliris Stack to a page the general settings had the main Flickr feed running. Now that doesn’t seem to be working…
I’m not quite sure that I understand your question.
I am using the Cooliris Stack by Joe Workman. I have it set up to display one specific “set” in my Flickr photostream. It’s still working just fine.
If it’s working with a particular set, then it would seem like it should also be working with your overall photostream. (I think this is what you’re asking.) Here’s a link to my page with a set displayed via Cooliris stack:

(Sorry in advance if this doesn’t address your question.)
