I have watched the tutorials on rapidweaverclassroom.com as far as optimizing images for the slideshows in weaverpix. I have made them 640x480 at 72 dpi, 40-50K as instructed, however I’m disappointed in the quality of the photos. They are very pixelated. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get my images to appear sharp and of good quality?

Hi,
On your WeaverPix page in RapidWeaver, open the page inspector and check that the image format is set to ‘Original’. Or if you are getting RapidWeaver to convert images to JPG format, check that the quality setting in the page inspector is ‘Best’ or ‘High’. This should get rid of any pixelation and improve the image quality in your WeaverPix slideshow.

There is also an image quality setting in WeaverPix itself. If you click on the ‘?’ icon, it will give you more information about how it works.

Thank you for your help - I have tried it both ways. With the original and the jpg format options on my RW page and neither one made a difference. I also have checked the image quality setting option in my WeaverPix page. The images are still appearing pixelated. I’ve attached a screenshot of one of the images so hopefully you can see what is happening.

You may want to get in contact with Greg Barchard who develops the plugin and see if he can offer any advice. From the picture it looks like the images are being scaled up in size and stretched to fill the container space. You might be able to try putting the image size up slightly without running over the 200KB warning.
