Hey Guys!
I’m a relatively new and very enthousiatic RapidWeaver user. I’m presently starting a new association for newly educated pilots in Denmark for which I want our website to be a central tool. I want to establish a area one the website at which members can set up a personal profile. Once they have finished they submit it and I as an admin will have to confirm as well as they will have to be provided with a log in and password in order to change their data and gain acces to certain areas for which they pay an annual fee.
My headache with this is that I don’t quite know where to start. There are som solutions out there but I don’t really feel they cover the above.
The area on the site to which a user can gain acces has to contian stuff like videos and documents as well as their ability to look at other users profiles.
What to do??
That was question number one.
Question number two:
I am using blocks for my site and I have made a videopage which I put in a pageblock. My problem is that the page does appear on the site but the videos do not appear in the pop up window that emerges when clicked on the links.
Here is the page http://www.pilotnetwork.dk/Medier/medier.html
Does anyone know where is did something wrong?
First question:
You may have a look at Sitelok of Vibralogix. They have a script for a member area and that can be used in a RW website.
Supportcasts made a wonderful video tutorial about Sitelok.
The only thing I wonder is that I doubt that users can approach other user’s profiles. But you may ask Vibralogix about that feature.
If you can’t convince them, confuse them.

Thanks… i’ll have a look at it. Anyone who has had good experience with expressionengine as it is one of the solutions I am looking into…
To do what you want with Sitelok, you’d need to write pages in PHP to enter and edit member profiles. You’d also need to write a PHP page to display other users’ profiles. Not difficult if you know PHP, probably very difficult if you don’t.
ExpressionEngine seems like overkill for what you need ... you might want to consider using WordPress for the members section of your site. There are WP plugins that would let you do all of these things, plus you could use WP-Blog to integrate WP into your RapidWeaver site. There are membership, extended profile, and e-commerce plugins for WP.
