Okay, this is waaaaaay late. But if you hold another meeting I’ll try to make sure to come. I live in SF itself. Unfortunately for the June 30th meeting I was in Paris for a vacation (somebody has to do the dirty work!). An end-of-September meeting could be great. Meeting in SF would be ideal (for me), but the general approach of meeting near a BART station is perfect!

I’m in town from 25th September until 1st October.

Greetings Bay Area RUG folks,

I am not sure how these recent posts and get together passed me by without notice. I’d love to be part of a Bay Area RW community. Quick history… Several years ago, back in 2007/08, I had some exchanges with Dan and Ben which inspired me to birth a Bay Area RUG and the original forum. There was little interest back then, I did not succeed in generating momentum and get it off the ground. So, I am delighted that there is a new generation of enthusiasts now. Thank you for making a first meeting happen.

Since Nik F will soon be in town, I thought it might be a great opportunity to meet up again. I am very curious to hear about the June meeting too. How many of you gathered? Beyond meet and greet what was discussed and/or decided in regards to future gatherings? What conversations did you have? Could those of you who attended report back to our forum?

I’d be glad to host the next meeting. I live in downtown Oakland, right next to 12th Street BART. I am one of the founding residents of a Cohousing Community called Swan’s Market Cohousing in Old Oakland, located just across the street from the Pacific Brew Pub and the Convention Center - for those of you who know the area. We (20 Cohousing households) share a large ~3500 sq foot common house/space with dining room, kitchen, kids room, sitting area with couches, internet access and more…. It is in that space that I originally having the RUG meet.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, express interest in meeting you all, offer a great space as well as hear who might be interested in joining a social with Nik F in downtown Oakland - whilst he is in town. Note: Since the common house is only available on 9/29, during Nik’s dates, so I have gone ahead and reserved it between 6p-10p! Just in case this idea appeals to some or all of you.
