Supersized IE8 and Stacks

I have a problem I’m trying to resolve:

Supersized in IE8 when using a 3 column text stack with RW 4.4 and Stacks 1.3.0.

The attached screen shots show a 3 column text stack which looks fine in Safari, but IE8 the text isn’t displaying in the 3 columns - the stacks look as though they are being ignored by IE.

I’ve tried increasing the height of the text area and changing the column widths and generally playing around with the settings because I’m guessing it is something to do with content overflowing in IE.

Anyone have any suggestions?

many thanks

Mark

I re-installed Stacks v 1.2 which resolved the IE issue.

I’ve been in touch with Lucas, the developer of Supersized, who’ll be looking to resolve shortly.

It sounds like Supersized is not working well with 1.3.  I’m not familiar with this Stack, but if I can help out in some way, can someone send me the files to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

If anyone is having a similar issue the answer is that this theme (current v1.16)  has more CSS links and script tags than IE is willing to load. Therefore, it’s stopped loading them by the time it gets to the stacks.css file you need for Stacks to work.

Karn has very kindly done a tutorial on how to resolve here (for any theme that has a similar problem):

Took me about 30 minutes to work through and sort out…

Mark, you’re a life saver.
Before leaving on vacation I was already working on a new, rather simplified revision, to accommodate IE limitations.
I expect to release this one at end of August.

Hi, thank you so much for for this post. I cannot tell you how many problems I have had with Supersized over the last 6 weeks. I followed the tutorial and now so many issues have been resolved (mostly surrounding Stacks) and other Javascript issues.

This is invaluable information.

Thank you again.
