Hello,
I am new to Rapidweaver and to Stacks. I have a video posted on YouTube. Could someone provide step-by-step directions on how I add 1 or more YouTube videos to a Stacks page? Also, what’s the difference in Stacks between the two choices for YouTube?
If this information is provided elsewhere on the Stacks support page, I apologize for not being able to find it. I’d like to learn to use the Stacks add-on better, but other than the videos it’s difficult to see how they work.
Thanks!
don’t need a Stack to just embed YouTube see our free SupportCasts Video http://supportcasts.com/embed-youtube-with-rapidweaver/ of course there are some stacks that help make that process easier

Thank you so much for your reply. I am sure I will learn much from your Support Casts videos. However, I am still interested in learning how to use the Stacks YouTube video features to embed videos. So, perhaps someone can respond to my questions above regarding how to do what I am trying to do with a Stacks page?
Again, thanks for your speedy reply!

By my latest count, there are at least 4 Stacks that can add YouTube content, so it will depend a little bit on which one you’ve chosen. Each is a bit unique in its own way. You can find a few of them here:
http://www.rapidweavercentral.net/stacks/all_rapidweaver_stacks_on_one_page.php
But the basic idea is that after you have RapidWeaver running, a Stacks page created, and the YouTube stack added (if you have trouble with those steps see the installation instructions for each) then you’ll need to add the YouTube embed link to the stack.
1. Open up the YouTube video with your web browser just like you were going to watch it on their site.
2. Look at the URL that your browser is displaying for the video. It should look something like this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw72EyG2z7s&feature=youtu.be
3. You need to grab the unique id of the video. It’s the part that comes after “?v=” and before the “&” (there might not be an ampersand, that’s OK). Just select that bit with your mouse and choose Copy from the Edit menu.
4. Jump back over to RapidWeaver and select the YouTube stack by clicking on it.
5. Open the stack HUD by clicking on the “i” button in the upper left corner of the stack.
6. Near the bottom of the HUD window will be an area to paste this value. In Will’s stack it’s labeled, “Video ID”, it will be something similar in each stack. Delete the ID that is there by default. Then choose Paste from the Edit menu and press Tab to enter the value.
The Video ID should now display the value that you copied from the YouTube website. If it doesn’t, then you’ll need to try again. If it does, then you’re pretty much done. If you Preview the page it should display your video embedded.
You can probably configure the size of the video, add a border around the video, and add other content to the page.
Let me know how it goes.
