# Building a blog

In simple terms, how do I do it? Is there a step-by-step guide anywhere? I have Essentials, I know it uses CMS… But in non-technical terms, what buttons do I press to create it? I’m not so interested in updating it non-locally, although I gather that is what CMS is for. I simply want to create a blog on my site.

Or is it as simple as creating a page with a bunch of cards, and linking them to other pages where I have laid out all the text? I am sure there is more to it than that.

Open the microblog project and that will help you start and @thominator does a great book to help you too!

The microblog project is not in the Elements Store via Elements. I saw it in the web store, but clicking on it asked whether it could open in the Elements app. I agreed, but it didn’t install. Thanks.

It opened Elements when I went to install it, but it didn’t appear in my version of Elements.

The projects are now included as part of Elements, you’ll find them in the “New Projects” window in the app.
