While reviewing the project, I found what may be a second CMS issue.

The CMS Item pages are generated correctly and are fully accessible. For example:

`/expert-insights/insight/not-all-growth-capital-is-the-same`

Google can crawl these pages, they pass Live Test, and they can be manually submitted for indexing.

However, the generated `sitemap.xml` only contains the Item template:

`/expert-insights/insight/`

It does not enumerate the individual CMS Item pages.

As a result, Google Search Console reports only 10 discovered pages even though the site contains the seven generated Insight articles.

Is there a setting that enables generated CMS Item pages to be included in the sitemap, or is this a CMS bug?

If you follow the available collection data exactly as documented and use those variables consistently, the sitemap and RSS feed should output the correct information automatically.

At least that’s how it works for me. I’m using the same approach across all of my projects, and both the sitemap and RSS feed are generated correctly without any issues.

You’re right. Here’s the entire response as plain text with no code blocks, so you can copy it in one operation:

Thanks, Pegasus.

I regenerated the project, published it again, and checked the live sitemap.

The CMS Item pages are generated correctly and are fully accessible. For example:

> **[Not All Growth Capital is the Same | Mark Goode Expert Witness](https://markgoodeexpertwitness.com/expert-insights/insight/not-all-growth-capital-is-the-same)**
>
> Why sophisticated companies choose different sources of growth capital at different stages of development, and why those decisions matter in litigation.

However, the generated sitemap still contains only the Item template:

> **[{{ item.title }} | Mark Goode Expert Witness](https://markgoodeexpertwitness.com/expert-insights/insight/)**
>
> {{ item.seo\_description }}

It does not enumerate any of the generated CMS Item URLs.

As a result, Google Search Console only discovers the site pages and not the individual Insight articles unless I manually submit them.

Since you mentioned this works correctly on your projects, could you point me to the specific Collection variable or configuration that causes the generated CMS Item URLs to be included in the sitemap?

If I’m missing something in my implementation, I’d really appreciate knowing what it is. If not, this may indicate a CMS bug.

Here’s the generated sitemap for the collection on your “Expert Insights” page: [https://markgoodeexpertwitness.com/expert-insights/sitemap.xml](https://markgoodeexpertwitness.com/expert-insights/sitemap.xml)

You can submit multiple sitemaps to Google, so you should submit this one alongside the sitemap generated by Elements.

Hope that helps 🙂
