I’m starting my first major project with Elements and have been reading and watching the manual, videos, and examples for a while now to see how things are done.

I’m a bit confused by something in the Voyager II example project: on the homepage, a column element, a background element, and another column element are grouped together in a container (Main page container). However, when these three elements are used individually, they function exactly the same. I can’t see how the container changes the appearance. A global element for possible reuse hasn’t been created either.

This is making me uncertain because I’m not sure if I’m missing something, and because I’m not yet very familiar with elements like Containers, Flex, and Grid.

No ideas?

I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Are you referring to the main global element? Global elements work like partials in stacks, with a few differences. The project has two global elements: Header (the entire top block) and Footer.

Thanks for your reply.

As I mentioned, I’m not referring to the global element at the top of the page, but rather the element named “Main Page container” with the satellite icon in the image. This wasn’t converted into a global element.

It’s possible that it has no further significance and the elements were grouped together with the container for a reason.
