I’m in the process of migrating my site from RapidWeaver to Elements… My contact form works in RapidWeaver but it doesn’t work in Elements. Hi @ShantiR Could you post a screenshot of the settings you have for the contact form (be sure to remove/obscure your password though!)? ---

Hi @ShantiR I’m not certain your Host field is correct. That looks to be the server hostname, not the mail server SMTP Host (although these can sometimes be used interchangeably). Anyway can you confirm your SMTP Host in your web hosting control panel at your current web hosting provider? It might be: `smtp.netsol.xion.oxcs.net` or just `smtp.newyorkedge.com` ---

Hi @differentdan, I built this site for my band so I’m not a web-designer and I’m the very definition of ‘I only need to know enough to get my site running 🤣 so here’s what I found on my web hosting control panel… **Username** [info@newyorkedge.com](mailto:info@newyorkedge.com) **Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)** [netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com](http://netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com) **Port** 993 **Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)** [netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com](http://netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com) **Port** 587 Is this the info you were looking for? And if so does this mean that I should be using [netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com](http://netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com) my contact page’s host box? Yep that’s it, you would enter `netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com` in the Host field in the Contact Form’s settings panel. Everything else looks correct. Try updating that Host field in your Contact Form settings and republishing the site. Let us know how you get on afterwards. ---

THANK YOU that works! A follow-up question on spam protection: When I add spam protection to the form (I tried both honey pot and reCAPTCHA) the form stops working, when I remove the spam protection it starts working again. I learned from my Rapidweaver site that I will need spam protection (I got slammed without it 🙂 Ideas??? Thanks so much in advance! Shanti ---

How are you adding the HoneyPot spam protection? You should only need to select it in the form settings and that’s it. You don’t have to configure anything for it.. ---

Yes, that’s exactly how I added it… I just selected it… no configuring. Here’s what I tried: I added honeyPot and the form stopped working. Then I removed it and it worked again I added reCAPTCHA and the form stopped working. Then I removed it and it worked again Let me know your thoughts! ---

Done… I added re-captcha (invisible) and re-published all files. Let me know you thoughts and I can do the same with HoneyPot ---

Hi @ShantiR The error is below: ```auto "success": false, "error": "Spam protection provider 'recaptcha' is not properly configured", "error_code": "provider_not_configured", "timestamp": "2026-08-19T14:41:57-04:00" ``` So you haven’t configured the reCaptcha option correctly. Which one are you trying to use? ---

Ah ok, I didn’t realize I had to configure the spam protection… i just added the re-captcha (invisible) to the form without configuring. Do all the spam protection choices need configuring or is there one (or more than one) that can just be added with no configuring? I don’t know enough about the spam protection choices to make an informed choice… is there one that you prefer/feel works the best? I’m learning as I go 🙂 ---

I have found Turnstile to be the best option, and it is free and relatively easy to set up, especially if you are hosting with Elements Hosting. ---
