Yes, we finally did it… **the Theme Studio now supports setting the Body background color!** It might seem like a small addition, but it’s one that can make a big difference 🎉

This feature (and more) will be available in the next Elements build, arriving later today.

Watch today’s Dev Diary to see it in action!

Hi Dan,

I am a newbie on [Elements](https://elementsapp.io/), my question is can I copy and paste or swipe the contact page to another open project. If I click and swipe there is a green +, hovering to the desination project the plus disappears but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? This feature would be great!

Thanks,

Al

Dan, why limit the Page Background Custom colour to just colours. Why not add the ability to add a picture instead of a colour? That is what I use on my web site.
Cheers

Tailwind’s theme JSON only supports colors, not background images, and [Elements](https://elementsapp.io/) is following that spec. I’d suggest sticking with using the container for background images!

You can’t currently drop pages between projects, but it is on the roadmap to add.

For now, you can select the components, then copy and paste them to a new page in the other document.

@dan I have tried to use this on one of my projects and I jus cannot get it to work. Regardless of the color I set all I get is a WHITE background. I have tried numerous colors with no luck.

It works fine in the editor but does not work in the browser (Safari).

I have republished several times bu no luck.

What am I doing wrong.

I even tried overriding a color on one of the pages and no luck.

Next I tried it in one of my little test projects and it seemed to work fine there. So I’m left wondering is there something wrong with my project?

Have you tried changing themes? I’m wondering if that will kick it into working… Can you also share the project that doesn’t work so I can take a look and see how we can get it fixed up ASAP!

@dan I’ll email you the project. I have tested this across four of my sites. Two of them work and two of them don’t very strange.

@Godber, @handshaper

Okay, I think I might know what’s going on here… and it’s something we forgot to put in the release notes 🤦 That’s what happens when you move so fast, heh!

If you’ve updated your site template, you’ll need to add a new [elements](https://elementsapp.io/) tag to the body to ensure the colour is getting applied when it’s exported.

Your body tag in the templates might look like this…
`<body {{page.bodyAttributes}}>`

But it needs to include `class="{{page.bodyClasses}}"` so it should like like the following in your template:

`<body class="{{page.bodyClasses}}" {{page.bodyAttributes}}>`

Hope that makes sense, and that should fix the issue for you.

yep///fixed it for me 👋but if I pick a theme in the theme studio the theme background colour sliders are just white and black and I cant change them like your video…custom sliders I can change. am I not meant to be able to change them ?

I can use the top sliders but the bottom ones are the same and I cant adjust them no matter what theme I pick

That fixed the problem for me. Although my template did not have the ` {{page.bodyAttributes}}` defined in the body.

I’ll check all of my projects for this change.

_All of the working projects had this code in them, hence the reason they were working. I had never modified these templates, were they just stale?_
