THANKS however I have looked this up before, I asked my legal team app about this and got this reply - "You CAN get a free privacy policy, but they aren’t actually enough to protect you from liability. The free policies do not cover all of the important clauses like GDPR or CalOPPA clauses."This is why I was hoping something could be in built into ELEMENTS. There are many free sites around that do the same. I am ISO registered and need to be clear. Have a great weekend!
@PMUK A privacy policy is different to a cookie consent pop-up, what exactly do you need for your website?
@elementsbot Can you offer some guidance on adding a Privacy Policy to a site built with Elements, it needs to be GDPR and CalOPPA compliant. I’d also like to know when you need to have these things in place.
Sorry I meant cookies pop up, I have T&C’s and a Privacy Document which has matured over the years with the help of ICO as I am registered with them for GDPR as I have to be because of the nature of my business.
Something I don’t understand: if you’ve already consulted your legal team, why not have them draft your privacy policy directly? The contact form includes a link to it, so you could easily add the same link to your site’s footer. If it’s a significant concern, you can also display a banner at the top, bottom, or side of the site to call attention to it.
It seems risky to leave potential legal exposure to Realmac Software—especially if your legal team has already raised concerns about using a free policy. I reviewed that free version, and it’s about 15 pages longer than any policy I’ve previously used.
If you read my immediate response you will see I responded saying I made a mistake and meant Cookies pop up. Please read what I put above for a fuller explanation. THANKS
