Dev Diary 99 - New Tree Navigation Component

You just milking this post!

Always try to promote Elements, what you can do and how easy Realmac have made this, incredible

I doubt a lot of new users know what is under the hood, just grid and flex have so many options and properties

Once other components s have been added it will b an even higher level than it already is

If I can build components, started from scratch learning, I would say that was a brilliant idea to make this capability so easy

Great teaser, like the new structure of manual, however, I don’t think this covered? If it is then thanks and where is it.

In this post @ben posts a link to a project which “resolves” a problem that a user has asked. In another post @dan posts a link as an answer to Dev Diary 82, in this there are about 6 project links from RM and Users which are very useful. So my question was “How do you find these links” without having to go through every post. I do use book mark a lot but still have to search multiple posts sometimes to find an answer with a project download. Sometimes I visit a post and its only days or weeks later that a project will be added and as more and more join this community there are more questions and solutions.

I personally find downloading and dissecting projects to find out how things work are sometimes more beneficial than watching/pausing videos and trying to work out what’s happened.

It may be impossible to do but would be a great addition to the community page. TIA

Experimenting can lead to some unexpectedly cool results, and I gotta say, you’re doing a great job!!

I’m always a little paranoid about cross-browser compatibility myself. It’s awesome to hear Elements is behaving well. I’ve been there with those older iOS Safari and Chrome versions—grid and flexbox issues you’d never see on modern OSes. It’s all solvable, of course, but it does take some work to get these kinds of animations running smoothly everywhere.

BTW, if you’re interested in complex web animations, you should definitely check out Hype. It has a similar layout creation vibe but is built specifically for animation. You get cool features like morphing, freehand shapes, and even physics to play with. The best part is you can export the animations and incorporate them right into your HTML. Might be worth a look

I have had hype for a long time couldn’t get the hang of it, if it doesn’t click straight away I give up, might give it another go, now I have been practicing with Elements
