Access denied would suggest the server is rejecting the transfer for some reason. Which host are you with?
Also, which other app did you try and successfully upload with?

I’m with hoststar.ch, never had a problem with them over the last decades. Uploads with the FTP Tool from Fetch Softworks just work fine.
