Elements 2.0 Beta 3 Now Available

PS as your active on this thread at moment can you help with tabs question earlier please too THANKS

Open the preferences, and go to the Addons tab, then right-click on the Dev Pack you’d like to remove…

Just a quick reaction as I updated the sites I’m working on with the latest beta (I had been waiting for tables and breadcrumbs).

Breadcrumbs seems to work pretty much as I’d expect. I’d have preferred the default Gap to be 0, as it seems a little problematic to be stretching breadcrumbs out horizontally. Even on a modest sized site I hit the “mobile truncation” very quickly with the default of 2.

Tables, as others have noted, have the problem of what happens when you accidentally remove everything from a cell. Moreover, I’d have expected to be able to tab over to the next cell as I’m entering things. That said, I was able to simplify presentation of one thing very quickly with the new Tables component, even though the table itself was pretty long (the striping option is perfect). But as Themes “expand”, do things like striping get into the Theme?

The whole 2.0 beta still has lots of non-conforming macOS issues, though. Selecting, extending selections, copying/pasting, moving, all have small gotcha issues. Elements also seems to not paste (even though it sees the item and paste isn’t dehighlighted) whenever the item doesn’t include just text. I’d have expected it to “paste the text, ignore the rest.”

Good news, we’ve just shipped Beta 4 and it fixes both of these things

You can set the theme stripe colour in the component, by default they are set to “Surface”, so it will automatically work with any theme

Paul, the MULTICORDION is the custom component I sent you not something from RMS.

Thanks I remembered that when Dan said it wasn’t theirs, but never had a “NEW” label beside it before until Beta 2! THANKS anyway!

@dan The tabbing from cell to cell is very handy and much appreciated, but I would like to see it updated slightly. When you tab into a cell, it should select whatever is currently in the cell. Maybe there could be an option to enable this feature. It is tedious to tab into a cell and then have to select the text to change it. This is primarily tedious when you are creating a new table and adding rows that need to be populated with data.

Should we post bugs we find in this thread or start new ones?

Doesn’t really matter. Perhaps new posts now as this thread is already rather long
