Elements Hosting Updates - 3rd Edition

Another weekly update on what’s going on in the Elements Hosting world.

Early Testers Onboarded and Loving It

A gigantic THANK YOU to our Early Testers for volunteering to be our first set of customers! We got the first wave of Early Testers onboarded last week, the second wave we are working on this week, and will finish up with the third wave next week.

So far, our Early Testers are loving it! Below are just a few bits of feedback we’ve received over the past few days. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Just want to say thanks again to all our Early Testers. Y’all have helped so much and we truly appreciate you! :heart_hands:

Domain Name Registrations and Transfers Now Online

We’re happy to announce that domain name registrations and transfers are now available for our Early Testers. If you are looking to register a new domain, or transfer your existing domain over to us, we’re ready!

The great thing about moving your domains over to us is that we can fully manage them for you, including all the complicated DNS stuff! Again we want our customers to focus on building out of this world websites with Elements, not trying to manage domain name settings and configurations. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

If you are an Early Tester and would like to register a new domain, or transfer an existing domain name, feel free to reach out to me to get the process started.

We’ve Launched Our Launching Soon Page!

We’re still working on our Elements Hosting website, however we just launched a coming soon page. Check it out below.

Something to look at in the meantime while the main site is under construction. :building_construction: :construction_worker_man:

Conclusion

That wraps up this week’s Elements Hosting updates. If you have any questions about anything, please do let us know. As always, we’re happy to help with whatever we can. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks

Dan I would like to thank you again on here personally for all your help this week, as a process it was very easy to set up, the control panel is clear and you help my handled brain understand the situation I have of separating domains and emails. I have a very clear picture of way forward and a plan to get there.

Your patience, knowledge and understanding is brilliant and we moved over a website and had it up and running in about 10/15 minutes - most of that time was spent waiting for transfer to take place. I am currently “Elementising” this website and my next near step will be using the FTP to load it to the file structure we set up.

I personally highly recommend Dan and the new system as a great benefit and way forward to the Element Community!

PS I am not affiliated to Realmac nor received any money or free goodies from Dan for the above!

I had posted this on a separate thread, but thought it might be helpful to post here as well.

I’d like to add my two cents as another beneficiary of Daniel’s (@differentdan) expertise and patience. He made the process of setting up my hosting package a pleasant and painless process. Especially considering that my needs were not necessarily straightforward due to the number of domains and sites involved.

But he handled it all with aplomb and efficiency.

I can safely say that anyone who opts to go with the Elements Hosting service is going to be pleasantly surprised by what a difference it makes to have a MANAGED hosting package.

From my point of view, having this additional service makes it a no-brainer to select Elements for your website needs.

Looking forward to seeing the details….

Some of my sites are very simple - others not so much

I’m locked into hosting for three years (paid ahead)

Hi @MichaelDroste

Absolutely, what details were you interested in seeing? Let me know and I can try and get them to you.

I’ll add my two cents as well being one of the 1st weekers. Dan was so very helpful and we Zoomed a few times to go through the process. Like someone else said it was probably like 15 minutes to get things set up.

Today, I’m starting my domain registration transfers. Very happy with the move and pricing.

Do you offer Shared hosting (how many sites can one have)
Are there bandwidth limitations
Are there storage limitations

Outside box question - I use Flarum - an open source forum software - some places - they have a hard time or can’t install if for the end user - would that be available?

Just a tidbit my one song every day website has a ton of full size audio files - a lot 365 4 minute songs… - not using cloud flare at this time

Yep, shared and dedicated. We are starting with shared first though. We will offer dedicated not too far behind.

Unlimited, we don’t put a limit on the amount of sites you can host.

Yes, each hosting package will have both disk space and bandwidth limits. As of now (during the early testing phase) those are soft limits. As we gather more data during the early testing period, those limits might be adjusted.

At the moment we are only offering hosting for RapidWeaver Elements and RapidWeaver Classic built sites. We are not offering hosting for third-party forums or CMSes (like WP and the like)

As long as you were within your hosting packages storage limits, you could host them, however we definitely recommend warehousing stuff like that to third-party file sharing/storage, or dedicated music sharing services (like Soundcloud or something). It just results in better performance, stability, and features for everybody involved (us, you, your site visitors, etc.).

Let me know if you have additional questions. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is my new site hosted by Elements. Thanks, Daniel, for helping to get my site transferred and answering my questions. I appreciate your support. I’m delighted to have a host that understands the website builder. I’m having fun playing around with some of the media components. I’m not a tech guy, but I stick with Elements largely for the supportive community.

Great idea and a nice site!

I think it might be helpful for people to see sites hosted on Elements Hosting, here are a few of mine.

Your gallery light boxes dont work…click an image and it opens….no buttons work and you cant exit unless use back button on the browser

I am nearly 70 and I can not read your text very well as colours dont seem to mix well for my eyes. Apologies

Thanks for the comments. Paul, I don’t see that on my end, weird. Also, I’m not sure why my lightbox does not work.

Hi @hsakols

Can you do the below, and then test that the lightbox is working correctly?

Then click the Done button, then test the site again and let me know if that fixes the lightbox for you.

Hugh look at your dark and light modes in project I think your darl mode settings need a tweak.

it does my end as a visitor

I think @hsakols clicked that Revert to default button and republished already, because it’s working here too now. :slightly_smiling_face:

Awesome, happy to hear that. :tada:

This was another easy fix because we had everything we needed on Elements Hosting to troubleshoot the problem proactively without having to request @hsakols send us lots of back and forth emails and project files. :slightly_smiling_face:

this is what is looks like on my iPhone, menu is over the title, plus you have float (overflow) on mobile 2nd images shows the amount. Also the menu is way off the screen at the bottom
