I have installed the Elements Microblog sample and CMS Pro Online.

Jonny has two post. Shouldn’t there be a link on his name ”By Jonny Appleseed” to his bio for more info about him?

@dan have a look at the ”authors” and ”jonny.md”. I can’t see this page in the browser about Jonny Appleseed and his bio when the project is on the server. Also clicking on the ”eye” for a preview looks strange …

It’s not linked. Select item.author.name in the page layout and you’ll see that it doesn’t have a link. But just supplying a link interacts with the CMS. As I noted in my book on the CMS, microBlog is a useful simple sample, but has some aspects to it that could use elaboration or fixing. There is no Author page, for instance, so even linking to {{item.author.name}} needs extra work by the designer to get it to work. So, at a minimum, @ben needs to add an Author page example and show how it’s linked.

I just did a quick update to microBlog for myself.

1. Duplicate the Post page and call it Author.
2. Where {{item.title}} appears on the page add “About {{item.author.name}}”
3. Use the Inspector to make sure Author’s Single Post Component is set to use Author.
4. In the Post page place “About the Author” text underneath the {{item.body}} reference.
5. Select About the Author and link it to Page: Blog/Author.

@thominator Thanks got that working. But @ben needs to fix this.

@ben any plans to fix this in the microblog? Only temporary fix by @thominator

we were looking at the microblog project last week to see if we could provide a more complete project with tag lists, author pages, and so on.

Whilst it is technically possible to do this with the current components, we are looking at ways to make things more user friendly. Hopefully we can provide a more complete project in the near future.

In the meantime, if there’s something specific you’d like to achieve let me know and I’ll see if I can get an example project done for you 🙂
