Actually he originally compared Elixir’s site (https://elixirgraphics.com) to Joe’s site (http://joeworkman.net).
Joe’s site is made with RapidWeaver, Elixir’s is not. Yes, both Foundry and Foundation sites are, but not the developer’s main site.

Easy, Gandalf, of course it would be with the help of the Eagles though.
What is Elixir’s site made with? I’m using Firefox 48.0.1 at the moment. It looks like Statamic (?) - I’m not familiar with that …
Hi @Psalm66_: It is indeed Statamic, which is a flat file CMS. I won’t talk too much about it here since this is the RapidWeaver forums, but it helps me keep my content up to date easily since I’m a one-man crew. Saves me some time here and there so I can focus on other things. It is the same CMS Joe uses I believe for his DOCs portal.
Guys, please back to business. It is not worth talking about any developers web sites, and what they are made of.
It is just about what you are able to archive with the different frameworks.
Thanks getting back to the content of the question.
Time to close this thread
I’ve used Foundation and a lot of Joe’s stuff since finding RapidWeaver - good solid products. If there’s one thing that would make me switch to Foundry it would be the attitude of some of Joe’s helpers - Joe is always on the level, sane and reasoned, but some of the others jump in like attack dogs every time someone suggests an alternative.
Zeebe - I don’t want to sound rude, but - you know - other people make good things, too, sometimes they’ll have better features, sometimes competitors will have better websites. It’s alright, really… I’ll be trying Foundry out, and also still using Joe’s stuff - there is space. As I said, Joe’s products are solid, and they simply don’t need this level of cheer-leading in every forum post when someone offers alternative views. They stand up on their own, you see?
Gavin,
Did I say that Elixir made bad things?? If so, please point it out. Adam and I are good friends, he makes good products. I even beta test for him from time to time. Not sure where this is coming from. I attacked no one here, just providing facts, like Adam did. He is right, Joe’s doc portal is made with statamic. I was just providing facts for people. Sorry if you find that like I am on the attack. Was not meant to be, nor is this response to you. Just trying to see where you think I went wrong.
It’s a general comment, mate - it;s not about this thread, it’s about the forums in general. Sometimes you could just let it go - other good products exist, there’s no need to remind us of Joe’s stuff in every thread. I’m going to duck out of this now because I have no wish to have an argument, and you’re sounding very defensive in this thread.
I love Joe’s products, I love other products too. Some people are simply less pushy - and they are the people I prefer. YMMV. I’m not going to tell you what to do, I’m just suggesting that a more ‘softly softly’ approach sometimes would go down well with some of us punters.
Have a grand day.
Gavin
@LaPan: please close this thread, I guess enough said on this topic.
Lets summarize that all devs make great frameworks, and it is end users choice what to prefer.
I say we get a big mud filled arena and throw all the frameworks and developers, fans and foes, into it and see who comes out the cleanest!
In lieu of that, closing the thread will be my pleasure. Carry on!
