# Globals: Unlinking a Switch UI Control in a custom component?

I don’t appear to be able to unlink a Switch UI Control in a component that is in a Global. I have had to change it to a Segmented UI Control to be able to unlink it.

The unlink item is present for the Segmented Control but not the Switch Control.

Is this by design (and if so why) or a bug?

Looks like you found a bug with the switch control. I’ll see if I can get a fix for it into the next build.

Yes that is working now - thanks for the quick fix. 👍

There is another pre-existing minor issue, in that a field label if it is too long, it can overwrite the blue dot and unlink icons:

You can normally still click where you think they might be, so not a major issue. I suppose I could reduce the label size?

Excellent!

Yeah we know about the label length issue, it’s been there from the early days. I’ll see if I can do something but reducing the length is the easiest fix right now.
