I made a simple RW site some time ago [Here.](https://samfgrant.com)
Apparently Godaddy telephoned my client and hit them with a giant bill.
They are saying that my website is out of date and may “Break” soon. They’re offering a credit on everything she paid, and then they would build out a new website with an in-house Platform.
Its a really simple site and there should be no huge charges for anything. The conversation was on phone with my client so there is no written version of what she was told. Has anyone ever had this call before!? Seems really odd but hard for me to know exactly what they meant.

Sounds like they are trying to poach your client; that is very shady!

I know!
I shall be talking to my client next week so I’ll get more info. Then I will call GoDaddy, but I’d like to have my ducks in a row before I talk to them. Its annoying that it was a conversation rather than via email. I’m interested to find out if they are calling up everyone or just my client!.

I wonder if it was really Go Daddy. My wife had a phone conversation from someone who was going to fix her Amazon account, stating he had found some fraud…I was able to put a stop to that.

I agree with @Pete. This sounds more like a shady scam. I never have recieved a call from Godaddy. They always contact me over the Platform and I am with them for like 20 years I think.
