I’d love to know more about moving sites. My own site is the first I want to do. I am very interested. What is the cost for hosting? What else do I need to know? Thank you very much!

Hi Debi

Migration is usually pretty simple (or at least I try to make it as simple as possible):

1. you send me your existing host log in details (not via this forum!)
2. I’ll review the account, make recommendations for a plan.
3. I’ll request additional information (such as logins for email accounts)
4. I’ll put an order together for you (if you haven’t already) and get to work

I try to keep you updated when I’m all done. Then, whenever you’re ready, we can take the site live at Chillidog. Depending on how large and complicated, there may be a little back and forth. I typically do all migrations during the night and on weekends when traffic is lower.

What you’ll need to do during/after migration is:

1. update any email client settings as necessary
2. update the publishing settings to your new account
3. drink a cup of tea, catch up on your latest TV episodes or enjoy a relaxing glass of wine while I work 😛
