Hi all, my site is here: [https://www.thehrspecialists.co.uk/](https://www.thehrspecialists.co.uk/)

As per GDPR guidelines I’ve worked out how to switch to https (yay!), and now I’m working on her privacy policy. So how do I know if this rapidweaver site is utilising cookies?
Is it even something that Rapidweaver does? Or is it something that only happens when I link the site to Google webmasters and Google analytics?

Additionally her policy states this:
We do not use cookies or other unique identifiers when you visit the this website.
Your web browser may also provide the information about your device, such as an IP address and details about the browser that you are using.
The HR Specialists Consultancy Ltd does collect information such as your IP address or the browser you are using.
DNT is a feature offered by some browsers which, when enabled, sends a signal to websites to request that your browsing is not tracked, such as by third party ad networks, social networks and analytic companies.
The HR Specialists Consultancy Ltd website does not respond to DNT requests.

I don’t know if this website currently complies with the statements above. Can anyone help?

You could also install [Ghostery](https://www.ghostery.com/) in your browser and it lives up in the corner of the browser.

Thanks for the input all 🙂 Joe seeing as GDPR is so heavy duty, IS there a definitive way to check that your own rapidweaver creation isn’t doing the cookie thing? My client needs to be 100% compliant on this.

I guess that every browser may behave differently right? So some might store cookies and some might not? If that’s the case maybe I’ll have to say in the privacy policy ‘your browser may store cookies’…would that be more accurate?

I think I’m trying to ask, is it the website which generates cookies in which case it’s my responsibility, or is it any browser which may store cookies in which case it’s not my responsibility?

Your website so your cookies.

This is what my cookie ‘app’ tells me:

 ![40](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/realmacsoftware1/original/2X/1/15849181dfdfb1b0f1793c5e445da6edd8dff0ac.png)

The cookie checker one is not picking up cookies properly - I checked on my own site and it says it was clean but I have 4 analytics cookies.

I found this tool today: [http://cookie.attacat.co.uk/questionnaire.php](http://cookie.attacat.co.uk/questionnaire.php) for helping write a cookie policy based on how you answer the questions.
