# HTML custom component name

@dan Hi, would it be possible to add the ability to rename the HTML custom component? As I create several it becomes difficult to spot which one does what with the same name for all 😋

When I right-click on the component, it gives me a Rename option.

This isn’t working as expected for me as that ‘rename box’ is available on any component, but it won’t ‘enter’ (accepting the change) or ‘escape’ (rejecting the change).

FWIW I’m not sure what I expected to see when ‘peeking under/inspecting’ a standard component, but I think I can honestly say, ‘not this’. Perhaps inspecting a standard component (or a packaged 3rd party component) should present the user with a message that this component isn’t inspectable—which is also kinda strange.

Okay, there’s a little bit of confusion going on here… along with you guys hitting up against some rough beta edges we need to smooth out 😉

Here’s a video to try and explain renaming of things…

In short, don’t worry, all these things will get resolved during the beta phase!
