we’re receiving a significant number of reports for installations resulting in broken plugins after attempting an automatic plugin update.
We’ve occasionally seen this in the past, but it seems more frequent since the release of RapidWeaver 7.0.4.
Users addons folder results in an older plugin version left into
to Install subfolder and a newer, generally corrupted, addon version in main folder:
When this happens, users keep receiving bogus update alert within RapidWeaver, telling that a plugin update is available. Even if he/she is up to date, RW asks to install same version that is already installed. After accepting to update and restarting, upgrade notice reappears.
Unfortunately we’ve never directly experienced this in our test systems.
Our general advice is to
Reveal Addons Folder, close RapidWeaver, remove both
to Install folder (if any) and plugin, in order to finally reinstall plugin from original DMG. This seems to solve the issue.
