I don’t fully understand what you mean. If I click ‘inspect element’ on a page it shows the ‘old’ alt text? I will say, the migration of alt text was handled pretty poorly. I understand the logic in the change, but for sites that are rich with photos, this has become a massive project to correct the issue. Unless you are saying that the old alt text is still there. Can you please be a little clearer? thank you
Hello David11917,
Sorry if I am not being all to clear, English is not my native language… (in fact I never speak it).
I have tried to get things a little clearer now. All of my pictures that have been published with previous versions of Elements still seem to have the alt text, even if you can’t see it in the “I” resource tab of Elements inspector. I checked several images on my site by opening them in Safari and then right clicking the image and then go to “inspect element”. In every case I see the alt text right after the “src”.
I have downloaded v 2.4.3. of Elements and when I open the file I can see the alt text in the media inspector on the fourth line so somehow they are still there!
When I open the same file in Elements v 2.4.4. (in which that fourth line disappeared) and add text to the alt field in the “I” resource tab of Elements inspector and then publish the site again, the old text remains and the new one doesn’t show up.
I have sent an email to Dan Counsell about a week ago but did not receive an answer yet, maybe after this explanation everything is a bit clearer now and hopefully it helps to start finding a solution for this.
