@dan I can only get the contact form to work on my site if I TURN OFF spam protection, which is less than ideal.

I have tried using both Cloudflare and reCaptcha and neither of them will work.

Any ideas what the problem might be with these services?

Would be nice if we had some other spam protection options, like a simple challenge question. Even if it is not great protection it is better than nothing.

Hard to tell without seeing either/both of your project or published page - could you send us those so we can take a look? 🙂

At the moment we aren’t looking at including a “honeypot” form field due to reliability. We think using services like reCaptcha or Turnstile is the way to go for spam protection.

I noticed that Turnstile is very expense to use … unless the site is a hobby project.

@ben Here is the site that is showing the problem. This version is supposed to be using reCatpcha, but it never gets to the point of showing it.

If you need the project as well just let me know.

It is a very simple one page site for testing things like the forms.

@ben I finally have been able to get Turnstile to work on my test form, but no luck with reCaptcha.

Is there anyway of controling where the turnstile widget shows up on the form?

At the moment it pops up at the top of the form left justified. Be nice if there was a way to place the widget and have it show up in a specific location.

I was more interested in a challenge field where you ask a question and a specified answer is expected. Not the best of solutions but better than none and cheaper than Turnstile.
