Hey guys and gals! Quick question for anyone who podcasts. I use Libsyn and I don’t love the HTML player that embeds on my site. I really like Pat Flynn’s new Smart Player but I have a really hard time wrapping my head around paying continuously for it. Are there any HTML players that I can embed in my **blog** that are a one time charge?
Thanks so much!

You might want to consider Will Woodgate’s Player stack. Can be used with video or audio. Very adaptable, customizable. More here:

I love Will Woodgate’s stack, but is there one that can be embedded in my blog?

I was in exactly the same position as you @messyj232.
I’ve been using @willwood’s Player stack for a while on my podcast website [www.motivateyourself.co.uk](http://www.motivateyourself.co.uk/)
The ease of creating a simple blog post for each episode did seem to outweigh the flexibility of using Stacks.
But, in the end, I had no choice but to give in and create a new page for each new podcast episode. Yes, it does mean extra work but it means I can be more creative in the show notes.
If you do find a way of using stacks in blog posts please do share it though!
It could save me a lot of time!

Richard

You could just import the Player stack directly into your blog using [Pluskit’s](http://loghound.com/pluskit/index.html) @import(()) command.

Bioguy-
Are you sure you can import into the blog? I think you can only import into “styled text pages”? I am by no means an expert though…

Just tested the Player stack with Pluskits @import feature, not sure why I didn’t do that in the first place myself,
and it does work, in the summary pane at least.
Just need to weigh up the pros and cons of using the Blog page vs the better control that a Stacks page gives us.
Decisions, decisions!

You were able to “import” the player into the blog page?

@messyj232 I haven’t tried it since switching to RW6, but I used to do it all the time in RW5. It sounds like Richard tested it and its fine.

What I would suggest is to make a folder in your RW project and create a very simple stack page for each podcast you create. Simple meaning, just use a blank theme to keep the overhead down (like Will Woodgate’s free [Blank theme](https://www.themeflood.com/blank/) would be perfect) and just the Player stack for content. Name each page something related to the date (i.e “blogcast\_9\_21\_2015”). Then when you have Pluskit just type @import((blogcast\_9\_21\_2015)) wherever you want the Player stack to show up in your blog!

EDIT: Also, notice that Loghound does offer a demo. You can test it in your blog without paying anything.

@messyj232
Yep, was able to import it into a blog page.
I have a feeling that when it was first released it didn’t import properly, but with Stacks 3 and RW6 all seems good.

@Bioguy. Would this work for a photo gallery in a blog page as well?

Overall I’ve gotten away from it a bit now that Stacks 3 has _Partials._ But, it can definitely work to bring in the contents of other page types. For example, I like to @import the Sitemap page created by RW into a Stacks page where I can spice it up a bit and make it look like the rest of the site (the RW Sitemap’s modification is pretty weak compared to what you can accomplish with stacks).

I’ve also imported photo galleries and sliders made within Stacks pages and it worked very well in the blog, but if you mean the RW photo gallery plug-in, then I’ve never tried that.

Thanks @Bioguy! Yes, I meant a photo gallery stack.
