Remote Image stack with Gallery 3

Sorry, I know, but that’s currently not possible.

Something like this?

Thanks Jannis. That’s fine now I know why it didn’t seem to work.

So I should upload a test site and see what works then? Basically, work on the live site?

Yes. You can do this for example with a hidden (not showing in navigation) test page.

Excellent. I think I understand now. Thank you very much.

If you aren’t able to get the correct path setting on the live server, you are always welcome to send me a email for details: https://instacks.com/contact/

Thank you so much! I hope I can leave you in peace now, because now that I know that nothing will show up until I upload the site I can try different versions until one works.

Once I have done that, I have about twenty more folders to upload - presumably each needs a different web folder? The folders are all correctly named, and so indeed are the images so it should be web ready.

I’ll post if I get stuck: if everything goes quiet then you have solved my problem

Exactly like this.

Now if only there was a way to add captions to this setup…:sunglasses:

Currently IPTC data inside the files will be evaluated. In addition, you could use the file name.

How would you like to have the captions added instead?

I’d like the client to be able to add them in some way, outside of Rapidweaver. :sunglasses:

Captions that make sense - for example, “A new kitchen worktop in granite.”

Rather than “Graniteworktop.JPG”

Rob

I’ll be using the file names since those relate to the filed originals.

I still can’t get it to work… sob. I have tried every kind of path (I think)

Post the gallery page’s URL and we can probably figure it out.

Send me a email please with details.

How you would like it?

It’s pretty minimalist!!!

I’m quite sure it’s to do with the path, which my FTP tells me is this:

Try ../3000- for your path.

Without the dots? Yeah, tried that…

(Just tried that again, no dots and including the back slash. No luck)

Please… no debugging of setting errors in a forum.

@Ben1 Please send me a email with link to website, folder path of images, screenshot of Gallery stack settings. Thanks.
