Removing old blocks files

(john springate) #1

Some time ago I re-built my site using stacks. In my files on server I see I have a mixture of old blocks files as well as the stakes files. Would be OK to remove the blocks files?

If they’re not being referenced anywhere on the site any more, that should be fine.

Probably not. If those elements aren’t being used as part of the site any more then they’re not being ‘called’ so their absence won’t improve site speed. There are other things you can do though - is there a particular page that’s slow or just a general sluggishness to the site?

Hi Rob The speed of the site is fine. Just wondered if removing unwanted files would enhance the speed

Pretty sure it won’t. Will obviously save you a tad of space but it’s been so long since I used Blocks that I can’t remember how much disk space the pages used.
